Australie Communiqué de presse mars 2023

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that experienced M&A and private equity partner Michael O’Neill has joined the firm’s corporate M&A team in Australia.

Michael arrives from global firm PwC where he advised on the full range of M&A and capital raising transactions for international and domestic clients. He brings strong relationships with private equity, venture capital and early stage companies across multiple industries, including technology. Prior to PwC he worked at international law firms Baker & McKenzie and King & Wood Mallesons.

Michael is particularly active in assisting private equity and venture capital sponsors on their investments in businesses across a range of sectors and at differing maturity levels. This has included advising on leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, public takeovers, private M&A deals, roll-ups, initial public offerings (IPOs), ASX listings, secondary raises and exit transactions.

Michael also assists scale-up and growth stage companies to source funding from investors (including venture capital and private equity sponsors) and on exit events. He will divide his time between the firm’s Melbourne and Sydney offices.

Norton Rose Fulbright chief executive partner in Australia Alison Deitz commented:

“We are delighted to welcome new partner Michael O’Neill to our national corporate M&A team, which will continue to grow this year. He will work closely with our corporate M&A, private equity, banking and finance and restructuring partners to help close deals for our major clients.”

Norton Rose Fulbright corporate team leader Bryan Pointon commented:

“Michael’s history of advising dealmakers in Australia and overseas dovetails with our strong focus on complex work for clients across public company M&A, private equity, equity capital markets and restructuring involving M&A elements. Our corporate M&A partners and I look forward to working closely with Michael, with a particular focus on our private equity clients.”

Michael O’Neill commented:

“The access that Norton Rose Fulbright provides to international and Australian dealmakers, and the support of respected national corporate M&A, banking and restructuring teams, will be enormously beneficial to my clients. I’m excited to be joining a team that is growing in size and momentum at a time when M&A deal and private equity activity could begin to rebound with more stable economic conditions predicted later this year and into 2024.”
